Here are just some more pictures from this last week that mom was here. We went out to eat a couple of different times. Our neighbors also came over and ate lunch with us one day (Miku is holding Nelson). We made tacos for them and it was their first time ever to eat Mexican food! How fun!

On Sunday we went to the mall. Mom took Sterling in the play area and they obviously had a lot of fun together! The picture of me is with the new sling that my mom and dad got me for Christmas and I LOVE it!! It's so comfortable and Nelson just snoozes away in it. There are tons of different ways to wrap a baby/child in it so it's supposed to last until he's up to 35 lbs- amazing :)
Anyways, after the play area we went and ate ramen soup for lunch, Sterling had rice, his favorite.

Both of these pictures are just too good! I love the one with Bama and her grandsons.

We took mom up to Nagoya last Saturday to visit with my teacher's family for the day. It was a fun day and we ended it by going to the sushi restaurant! Mom was very brave and tried all kinds of interesting things. This picture was one of her favorites- the eel!

Sterling took this picture, this is where Nelson sleeps. We got this little bed at the second hand shop for only 200 yen (around $2.50!) Pretty good deal :)

These are just some more pictures from when Nelson was born that Kayla took on her computer. I wanted to get them on here because they are so good :)

Kayla hung out with my teacher's kids a couple of different times while she's been here and these are just a couple of pictures of the fun times they had together!

Sara's visit
Aunt Sara and her nephews! I love this picture, it is so good of the three of them. We were so thankful to have Sara here! It was awesome to have another aunt around to help us out, not to mention just getting to catch up and visit and enjoy her company for the week. So to her family- thank you for giving her up for an entire 10 days!
Sterling also tried on Sara's sunglasses and thought they were pretty cool. He looked good in them, huh?

Our neighbors came over to visit and bring us a present for Nelson. They also let us borrow a baby toy that Sterling and Miku played with instead of the baby!

These two are just the cutest!!

Nelson's first week
These are just some pictures from the last week. Some are at the clinic- the pictures of the food are from my meals there. They were really interesting and mostly delicious! The one with the red fish and rice porridge (with seaweed, mushroom and egg) was actually my breakfast on the last day.

Here are some of the people Nelson has met. Aunt Sara, aunt Kayla, Shu-san and Megumi-sensei, (their kids) Hinaco-chan and Taiyo-kun, and Coco. He's met a few more people than this, but we don't have pictures of all of them. So, we'll keep trying to get more pictures. Enjoy!!!

Nelson Carl Chase
Introducing Nelson Carl Chase; born in Nagoya, Japan on Sunday, January 4,2009 at 11:21 PM. He was 3,695 grams and 52 centimeters long. He's doing great, and so is Kacie. They have to stay at the clinic for a few more days; just normal Japanese procedure. Sterling was very happy to finally meet his little brother: he calls him "Melson". It's pretty funny. Here are a few pictures from the first day. We will post more later. We are trying to get pictures with everyone who comes by to see him, so hopefully we'll be able to post them at a later time so you all can see almost everyone Nelson has met so far. Thanks for all the prayers. We love you all.

Sushi!
Yesterday I got to pick the restaurant for lunch, so I picked Kapa Zushi, a sushi conveyor belt restaurant that Luke has so far in our time in Japan refused to go to. I guess the combo of me being ridiculously pregnant and Kayla wanting to try it made him give in :) No, seriously, he was a good sport about it and we ALL enjoyed the lunch, even Sterling! Kayla tried the eel and a sushi roll. She doesn't really like the seaweed wrapped around the rolls, but I think she'll grow accustomed to it before she leaves.
At the restaurant, sushi goes around on a conveyor belt and you pick off the plates that you want. If you want to order something special, you use the touch screen to order, then in comes out on a Japanese style train (sort of like Pizza King, only way faster!)

Cowboy
This is Sterling with his new cowboy pajamas and his new John Deere blanket.
By the way, still no baby...we're still waiting...impatiently.
We're just hanging out at our house for New Year's Eve, we'll probably play some games or something. We hope you all have a happy New Year!!

Christmas 2008
On Christmas Eve our neighbors came over dressed in Santa suits and gave Sterling a little present- it was so hilarious! I love our little apartment complex, I think we have the most fun neighbors. This little girl is Rio and her parents. On Christmas day, Luke, Sterling, Kayla and I walked around and gave our neighbors little boxes of treats that I had made them. It was fun to do.
So this is how we spent Christmas morning- at the clinic! Sterling has pink eye or some type of eye infection that just kept getting worse. We had tried to take him to the clinic the day before and sat for 2 hours waiting and never saw the dr. So we took him back Christmas morning instead of opening presents. But it was okay because we did later with my family on skype which was really fun!
Early on in the day Sterling got in trouble and was sent to his room. While he was in there he started opening presents! This present was supposed to wait until we were on skype with our family, but he opened it anyways and was SOOO excited because it had John Deere on it. My cousin Olivia made it for him and now he's been sleeping with it every night. I was actually really thankful for this blanket because it's starting to get really cold here and all he has is two little baby blankets. Thanks Olivia!

Sterling opened his stocking and presents- he loved every second of ripping into the packages.

Luke got a new scarf and coffee mug, Kayla got a new eco bag.
